the sample images (showing all 62 parks on one image) are the clean graphic design we start with. As the image is printed and then heat pressed onto birch wood, the colors become more muted. You can see this in the example photos.

The wood has grain surface roughness, and the colors become more neutral due the grains tan color changing the color tones to a more neutral, natural wood color and feel.

The finish is a matte, but you can spray it with any can of clear coat if you prefer a sheen. This is a natural wood product, and so it is not a perfectly uniform and smooth product, and we actually desire the natural color and roughness variations in the grain, as it gives each sign a unique character and charm.
